Unlike the truck, my car is good in the snow!

I had to go to the store and it was literally no problem. I should have driven the car in the first place today. Wouldn't have had to get a ride home from work.

The 6 is the most beautiful midsize out there. I wonder why a lot fall for the Camry snoozemobile

Probably because Toyota. Their parents had one, their extended family has one, and they never ever break (apparently).

Funny thing is, I rarely see the 6 around town - I see plenty of 3s but the 6 is still relatively uncommon around here for whatever reason. Even used prices are still higher than I would've thought they would be at this point.

Simple FWD seems to work just fine in snow. What are you going to do with the truck? Are you going to repair the 4WD system? Is it even worth it at this point?

Can’t beat Toyota reliability.

There should be a Mazdaspeed6 for this, the interior is at par with the Germans. This is the way all japanese cars must go.

In this day and age, who says a Mazda isn’t as reloable as the beigemobiles?

When I used to borrow the Ranger, it would handle like crap in the snow. Now fling my 3 around with reckless abandon. Funnily enough, my mom’s last-gen Celica seems to grip the road better in the snow than my 3! Or maybe I’m just not gentle enough on the throttle.

Instead of worrying about traction, I almost treat it as a game. That way I’m practicing the fundamentals of car control for when it’ll inevitably need it [when there is no other traffic around, obviously!]. I still exercise the “proper” winter driving around other people though; inceased braking distance, slow turning, winter tires, etc.

It would be nice to see that again - the old Speed6 was AWD as well.

I think their current generation of cars could all use a Speed version, whether it's the 3, 6, or ND.

You forgot the 2 bruh. I completely agree with you. Mazda is churning out the best Japanese cars right now.

I am frustrated that every Japanese maker besides Mazda is being complacent.

The lack of V6 scares away the stat-heads, and the price scares away the value shoppers. Those in the middle probably buy the 6 and love it, but it’s a small segment.

To be fair, I forgot the 2 because apparently Mazda has as well - I asked Mazda Canada about it and we won’t be getting the 2 here. We just get the Scion/Toyota equivalent, although who knows if they’d be willing to sell a rebadged Mazdaspeed 2 here as a Scion/Toyota.

Instead of the 2 we get the CX3 based on it - not what I wanted since this makes it more expensive than the 3. I wanted the 2 really badly since it looked good and naturally would be cheaper than a 3 anyway.

Makes sense, these do become very expensive when they’re fully loaded (although same can be said about the 3 GT trim as well). I find the V6 to be unnecessary in this type of car but I suppose if you need the "best" one when comparing stats, the Mazda 6 doesn't really compare. Those Camry/Accord V6s can go surprisingly quick.

Toyotas are known for being far more reliable than the competition. Knowing this, it’s easy to realize that people are more comfortable with Toyotas than they are Fords or Hondas or Mazdas.

The Celica is awesome in the snow. Used to drive one all of the time when it got bad out. The regular GT, not the GT-S worked really well, because sidewall, and skinnier tires. It makes a difference in deep white stuff.

A co-worker of mine brought up the Mazda6 the other day and how he confused it’s rear 3/4 for a Mercedes as he was sitting in traffic.

I do think it’s probably the most attractive mid-size economy sedan out there right now, I don’t think anyone else comes close.

Now if only they’d put a twin-turbocharged 2.5L in there!

Good news for my 3 with all the snow we won't be getting but my governor is overreacting because of how badly he screwed up last time we got snow

The 4WD is broken on mine. I'm more than likely going to cut my losses and sell it to help pay for a sinus surgery I need.

Our CX-5 is three years old and hasn’t had a single thing happen with it. Just tire rotations and oil changes. It has been rock solid, thankfully.

Before my 6, I had a 2008 Mazda3 that went seven years and 65,000 miles with two problems. Both were easy fixes. Thankfully, we've had great luck with our Mazdas.

Certainly. It’s just stat-heads, who feel like they want/need more than 250hp.

This is true. For a family sedan, I just wasn’t looking for a lot of power. My commute doesn’t allow me to drive fast. Neither do the curvy ass roads around here. However, those curvy roads do let the 6s chassis and suspension design truly shine!
